Product & Trends Spotlight on Coverings: Crossville Studios Collections in Step with Global Tile Trends
Apr 30, 2025Each year, Coverings, the premier tile and stone expo in North America, unveils the top ten tile trends in honor of National Tile Day. This event highlights the advantages of tile in both residential and commercial settings and celebrates its enduring presence in architecture and design. The trendsetters for this year have been pinpointed by Coverings' main sponsors alongside three major tile associations: Ceramics of Italy/Confindustria Ceramica, the Ceramic Tile Manufacturers Association of Spain (ASCER)/Tile of Spain, and the Tile Council of North America (TCNA). These groups have collaborated to present the most stylish and sought-after tile designs from around the globe.
Coverings 2025's top tile trends offered a sneak peek of the most exciting product exhibits planned for this year's show, and Crossville’s new Marblique™ porcelain tile collection was chosen to represent one of the top ten tile trends, “Mosaic Artistry.” Without further ado, let's look at some of Coverings' top tile trends and the Crossville Studios tile collections that align with them.
Mosaic Artistry
"From cafĂ© entrances to cathedral ceilings, mosaic tiles have long combined beauty and functionality, allowing designers to create personalized patterns and artistic statements. Today, mosaics are having a big (or rather, large format) resurgence. Porcelain panels with stone looks artfully cut together, either in geometric layouts or flowing organic designs, merge traditional mosaic artistry with modern durability and low maintenance. Whether handcrafted or large format, mosaic styles continue to transform surfaces large and small into captivating focal points.” (The Top Tile Trends of 2025 Revealed!)

Holistic Experience
As technology becomes more woven into everyday living, design is shifting toward a deeper connection with nature. With climate concerns in focus, ceramics provide a moisture-resistant base for houseplants, while digital advances bring authentic organic textures to life, enhancing spaces with a rich biophilic touch.
Nothing enhances Biophilia more than designs that blur the lines between indoors and outdoors. We offer several collections with coordinating exterior finish tiles that allow designs to flow seamlessly from indoors to out.

Sensorial Design
Interior designers are crafting spaces that engage all five senses. With advances in digital technology, ceramic tiles now replicate natural textures with striking realism, enhancing both touch and sight. Naturally VOC-free, ceramics also resist odors, helping create fresher, cleaner environments.
Visual Touch™ Technology
Bringing life to tile design with rich, textural realism is a revolutionary new manufacturing process called Visual Touch technology. As the name implies, Visual Touch is not just about visuals; tiles with this technology offer unparalleled accuracy, both in appearance and tactile sensation. Crossville’s Marblique™ and soon-to-launch Sand Garden™ both have this amazing technology that produces materials with hyper-realistic outcomes and superior technical and aesthetic qualities.
